will respond to all inquiries received from faith based organizations
via telephone, on-site, electronically, or in written form. Information
will be disseminated on HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and other issues
and needs of high risk populations.
Skills
Building
Training of pastors and other faith-based
leaders at an annual one-week session. The training will provide
and opportunity to meet and interact with People Living with HIV/AIDS
and to get information on HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and other
issues and needs of high-risk populations. There will also be
training on delivering HIV/AIDS related sermons. Training will
be given in how to set up a ministry to address the needs of the
targeted populations.
Information
Transfer
Disseminate information on the latest HIV/AIDS
and substance abuse statistics, techniques for talking about HIV/AIDS
within church and faith-based settings, and training opportunities.
The information transfer will be accomplished through mailings,
e-mails, the Ark website, newsletters, announcements, and presentations.
Technology
Transfer
Customized training curriculum to address the needs
of faith-based organizations. The training curriculum will provide
information on HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and other issues and
needs of high-risk populations.
Brochures and documents will be produced and distributed with
information on the content and methodology for delivering messages
addressing HIV/AIDS, substance abuse and other issues and needs
of high-risk populations. Tools will be available on how to deliver
model sermons, set up special ministries, how to understand the
implications of the HIV/AIDS epidemic for their congregation and
deliver compassionate messages for high-risk individuals.
